ever since I decided to have the main character argue with the narrator I knew I was going to have to have a character who couldn’t hear the narrator. The only question was would the main character be the only one or would the deaf character be alone? Eventually I decided that it would be funnier to have only one character who couldn’t hear the narrator, and thus one more part of Sparky’s madness is revealed.
