A meta flavored webcomic with no 4th wall and a plot about a webcomic actress and the challenges she has to face. You know imaginary scripts, unreliable narrators, plot holes, meta walls, wacky physics, mad science, and budget cuts. Updates Thursdays!
Uh, the short story is bugged now. I can view it on the home page but trying to go to it specifically (eg. to look at comments) gives a 400 error. Link is https://booksdontworkhere.com/comic/%chapters%/no-more/, I’m assuming something is failing to expand a nonexistent chapter. Anyway, I’ll leave my comment about it here, so to anyone coming along later, stop reading as the point past this is a spoiler. (Once this gets resolved and my comment gets deleted, I’ll replace it on the appropriate page so that stops being an issue.)
Ah, Dot’s introduction was great. Marred a little by the phrasing being a bit off, as it is across most of this story, but the bait ‘n’ switch effect still gets across perfectly. Might have something to do with reading a lot of Garfield.
Assuming that they didn’t write their software horribly (which is a very real possibility), the other explanation is that they’re using different line endings.

How did the phrasing seem off / in what way?
I think it mainly comes down to the punctuation, followed by the spacing/paragraphing.
ya the formatting didn’t survive the transition from word to patreon, not sure how to fix that.
