Books Don't Work Here

everyone and a while you get a page that takes forever to make. This was one of those pages. Most of it was due to the new characters not having references already figured out. They both have thicker shoulders then any character in the comic so far. Which meant using shoulder with to determine head size didn’t work. I ended up going with something around 137% of a real life head size but it was a pain to calculate and I’m still not sure if I will tweak it on later NPCs or not. The backgrounds also take a while. Not because they are incredibly complex or anything (although drawing things from any non straight on perspective makes it a lot harder), but because it was all done with a mouse. Mice don’t do diagonals or curves very well so something as simple as drawing a circle can take 5 min to get right. Either because you do it over 60 times till you get lucky or because you go and erase pickles to correct it.
