Don’t you hate it when your characters try and avoid taking action and just want you to deus ex machina them out of their problems (that was last chapters title, not this one)? Not that it worked but still it’s the principle. They need to be active and grow as characters.
And yes telemarketers speak in neon, at least until someone invents a louder color (you’ll know when that happens because they’ll call during dinner to tell you about it. At length).
But dinnertime is when I do my best sleeping!
(Not really.)
Literally every Telemarketer in Australia ever
I have tried to say this recently but I couldn’t get the comment to work. I think it would be really cool if they occasionally spoke to the audience. I think that would be an extra awesome touch to this comic
I have been playing with the idea of having a minor spin-off storyline (kind of like El Goonish Shive’s NP stuff) showing the characters in behind the scenes like you would see in reality television once the actors clock out, but I don’t think I’m ready to split my attention that much yet. I might make it a patreon goal after I’m up to posting at least 3 days a week.
I guess I could also do a Q&A page or two with the characters answering reader questions but I haven’t gotten a huge build up of reader questions (read zero). So while I’m not opposed to the characters interacting with the readers more (I do love meta after all) I kinda need to wait until I have more active readers to interact with.
I guess I could have the characters participate here in the comments before i reach the level of readers needed for the other two ideas, but I don’t want them to be completely in on all of what happened in chapter 5 (which would be hard to miss if they bothered to check the website). It wouldn’t be particularly in character for Robin to bother. not to mention the logistical hassle of switching between different accounts to comment. Still, I’ll look into how hard it would be, and how i could rationalize it story wise.
I’m keen. I promise to only use this power to crack dry wit at them, and not to try and break the story.
